sports dictionary Skiing - EDGING
Skiing EDGING the lower edge of a ski or snowboard, covered with a steel plate (edging), which allows the projectile not to slip on turns. Depending on the position of the skis, the edges can be called internal (the edges closest to each other on skis placed next to each other) and external, upper (mountain) and lower (valley). In a turn, the inner edge on each ski is called the edge that is closer to the center of the turn, and the outer edge is the opposite one that is further from the center of movement.
