sports dictionary Ice hockey - ONE-WAY CONTRACT
Ice hockey ONE-WAY CONTRACT an agreement between a club and a hockey player that provides for the same salary regardless of whether the athlete plays for the main team or plays in other championships (divisions). As a rule, such contracts are offered to high-level players who simply will not consider the option of a bilateral agreement. A one-sided contract is a guarantee of maintaining financial conditions even if the hockey player could not gain a foothold in the first team. For example, a player of a Kontinental League club is sent to the MHL team or the championship of another country. If he has a one-way contact, he will still receive the agreed amount for the season. If the club makes an exchange of hockey players, the new team must fully ensure the implementation of the financial part of the current agreement. The salary can be reduced (or increased) only with the consent of all interested parties.
